Resilience is a counter balance to stress and trauma. As caregivers, frontline staff, and senior leaders, it is especially important to foster your own resiliency levels, since so much time of your time is spent confronting the trauma of others. Vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue can offset this delicate balance if equal attention is not paid to fostering resilience through self-care. With this in mind, we'll approach self-care as a trauma-informed practice.
